1st free day in the city

today was our first free day aka party in the city all day / do whatever you want.
alyssa was put in as chair of the out of center committee
(her mom laughed when she found out the center put alyssa in charge of taking all the kids around the city. a city in which none of us have ever been to. but has to plan activities for haha)
anyways she planned a fabulous activity, it was a hit.

after breakfast we started out and headed to Jaffa Gate in the Old City.
we walked along the ramparts from Jaffa Gate to Damascus Gate,
and the view was priceless and so fun! we could see out all over.

dome of the rock:
after the ramparts walk we did the exact opposite.
instead of going on top of the city, we went below it to Zedekiah's Cave.
it is a massive cave under the Old City and largest in the area.
it was believed that King Soloman quarried stones there for his temple.

power women holding up the cave!
we had a goonies moment. don't ask why because i don't know.

by that time we were hungry and weall split up into littler groups for lunch.
the group i was with found an amazing restaurant by the Casa dela Rosa.
it is where i bought my first falafel and it was yummy.
(but i did pick out some pickels, onions and bright pink cabbage)
alyssa also bought fresh, pure pomegrante juice. delicious!

in line for falafels:
first bite!

after that we wandered around and shopped.
a hilarious shopkeeper gave alyssa, rachel and i free bracelets because he
"is friends of the mormons"
he was obessed with rachel's smile, alyssa's lovely eyes and my hair.
